Sponsored by the East Coast Outrigger Racing Association and in conjunction with Hawaiian Outriggers East and Eyecatcher Hawaii, we are pleased to present the Annual ECORA/Hurricane OC-1 Championships. The event will feature an out & back course along some of Milford's picturesque beachfront. It will comprise of an 8-mile long course and a 4-mile short course. The event will be limited to one-person (OC-1) and two-person (OC-2) outrigger canoes. Each participant is responsible for his or her own hydration system, sun protection, U.S. Coast Guard Life Jacket, and marine capable whistle. Life Jacket's need not be worn, but need to be on the canoe. If the conditions warrant leashes may be required. The event will start at Gulf Beach with the 4-mile participants turning at a mark near Pond Point while the 8-mile participants will turn at a mark near Merwin Point. 4 to 6 powerboats will accompany both groups of paddlers to provide safety. The following classes will be offered, but awards will be subject to participation:

Long Course:
Men: Open, Master (40 & Older), Sr. Master (50 & Older)
Women: Open, Master (40 & Older), Sr. Master (50 & Older)
OC-2 Men Open
OC-2 Women Open
OC-2 Mixed

Short Course:
Men: Open
Women: Open

All participants will need to pre-register before July 25th, by visiting the Hawaiian Outriggers East website, www.hawaiianoutriggers.com. All participants will download, print, sign and turn in the racing waiver at race day in order to get racing number and t-shirt. Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each class.
